The difference between WiFi and Bluetooth is that WiFi allows wireless devices to access the internet. On the other hand, Bluetooth just shares information within short distances. I’ve found a few apps that can share an internet connection via bluetooth on Android such as PdaNet 3.50 and I believe later versions of Android have it built in.
The Internet Protocol version 4 (IPv4) address is the older of the two, which has space for up to 4 billion IP addresses and is assigned to all computers. The more recent Internet Protocol version 6 (IPv6) has space for trillions of IP addresses, which accounts for the new breed of devices in addition to computers. There are also several types of IP addresses, including public, private, static, and dynamic IP addresses. ISPs buy a large pool of IP addresses and assign them automatically to their customers. Periodically, they re-assign them and put the older IP addresses back into the pool to be used for other customers.
Cloud Computing Assignment
Because IP rights are territorial and a single cloud computing service can touch multiple jurisdictions, it is unclear in many instances what IP laws will apply in the cloud computing environment. APIPA-configured devices can communicate with peer devices on their local network but cannot communicate outside of the network. While APIPA provides Windows clients a usable IP address, it does not provide the client with nameserver (DNS or WINS) and network gateway addresses as DHCP does. NAT is often used in satellite networks to give multiple devices, such as computers and routers, access to the internet using a single public IP address.
- If using the internet in your home also ties up the phone line (i.e. you can’t place or receive calls on your home phone) then you have dial-up.
- You cannot run another copy of the communication software and use the same modem connection, for example.
- Also, many modems include a built-in router, so you have the option of creating a Wi-Fi network without buying extra hardware.
- An example of this is the free software movement, which has produced, among other things, Linux, Mozilla Firefox, and OpenOffice.org (later forked into LibreOffice).
